The KASC Project — is a radical reinvention of how whiskey flavour is born.

At its heart lies the Hybrid Caskā„¢, a bold experiment: harnessing the terroir of wood itself to craft flavour from the cask up. Each Hybrid Caskā„¢ is hand-built and uniquely constructed from a selection of five distinct wood types - Portuguese Oak, American Oak, French Oak, Hungarian Oak, and Chestnut.

The Craft.

Creating a hybrid cask for Kinahan’s Whiskey is a meticulous process that blends tradition with innovation.

The Hybrid Caskā„¢ begins with sourcing staves from multiple types of oak.

Some staves come from barrels that have previously held different wines or spirits, to capture a diverse spectrum of flavours. The staves are carefully disassembled, inspected for quality, and reassembled into a single, hand-built cask, with each section specifically chosen for its unique contribution to aroma, texture, and taste.

Once constructed, the Hybrid Caskā„¢ undergoes selected heat treatment to activate flavour compounds before being filled with Kinahan’s whiskey KASC Projectā„¢ Series for maturation.

Over time, the spirit absorbs complex layers of character, producing a whiskey that embodies Kinahan’s pioneering spirit and mastery of cask innovation.
